Brokenhearted and single, Alexa meets sexy Nolan Pratt. She can’t deny the attraction and pull that he has over her.
Not being able to accept the fact that he has lost Alexa forever, Collin focuses all his attention on his second love, football, in an attempt to move on.
Will Collin be able to win Alexa’s heart back or will he find that his first love isn’t the love of his life?
I have so many conflicting emotions about Planning on Forever. This has made it very hard for me to rate it. On one hand, I really enjoyed it. It was a quick read with a good storyline. But, on the other hand, it seemed a bit rushed to me and unrealistic to the point that the characters got on my nerves at times. I went back and forth so many times but finally landed on 3 stars.
Planning on Forever opens with Collin and Alexa. They are the “it” couple: popular, gorgeous, and madly in love. But as graduation looms, the fear of being apart when Collin leaves for college starts to creep in. And, one night Collin crosses the line with another girl and ruins everything between him and Alexa.
Alexa is angry and hurt by Collin’s actions. After spending some much needed mourning time, her friends convince her to get back out there. Immediately, she meets Nolan. There is an overwhelmingly instant attraction between the two that they very quickly act on. Meanwhile, Collin is devastated about losing Alexa. His devastation is eased when he meets Summer. The question is: do they find that they had their true love already or do they discover what true love really is through their new partners?
As you can tell the storyline is very promising and had me completely engaged throughout the entire story. However, their ability to fall in and out and in and out of love so quickly just didn’t seem very realistic. This made it hard for me to connect. And the way that Collin handled Alexa finding out about his infidelity just flat out annoyed me.
As always, I loved the alternating point of views. It really was a satisfying quick read. I look forward to see what Ms. Wilcox does in the second book of this series.
